Signs indicate Russian troops plan to leave Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant - Energoatom chief
Petro Kotin, head of Energoatom, says there are signs that Russian troops are planning to leave the ZNPP and are trying to steal as much from the plant as possible.
Kotin announced this in an interview with a Ukrainian media.
He notes that Russian soldiers are not leaving the plant yet, but they are making preparations for the departure.
"Over the last weeks, we have been receiving information that there have been signs that they (Russian troops, - ed.) may be planning to leave the ZNPP. Russian mass media are spreading the information that the station may have to be put under IAEA’s control. There is an impression that they are packing their suitcases and stealing everything they can," said the head of Energoatom.
He also noted that Russian soldiers continue to completely mine the plant.
"They crammed everything they could into the plant’s platform - military equipment, their personnel. They crammed their trucks into the halls of the first and second power units, no one knows what they store - most likely weapons and explosives," he said.
