Russian forces have killed 359 children in Ukraine, injured 700 more and damaged 2,211 educational institutions during the full-scale war
This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office on Telegram.
"As of the morning of August 5, more than 1,059 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the Russian full-scale armed aggression. According to the official information of juvenile prosecutors, 359 children were killed and more than 700 were injured of varying degrees of severity," the office emphasized.
The figures are not final, because in places of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories, they continue to be established.
The most children were affected in Donetsk region - 371, Kharkiv region - 195, Kyiv region - 116, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region - 61, Mykolaiv region - 57, Kherson region - 54, Zaporizhzhya region - 40.
In the center of Toretsk, Donetsk region, on August 4, three children aged between 8 and 15 were injured as a result of Russian shelling of bus stops.
In addition, it became known about the death of a 14-year-old boy from shelling by the occupiers of Mariupol at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
"Due to bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces, 2,211 educational institutions were damaged. 230 of them were completely destroyed," the Prosecutor General's Office noted.
