Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine claims more lives: rising numbers of dead and injured children
Russian forces have killed 353 children and injured another 679 since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
The Prosecutor General's Office shared the report in its Telegram channel.
"More than 1,032 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression. As of the morning of July 20, the official number of child victims per day has not changed - 353. The number of injured has increased - 679," juvenile prosecutors emphasized.
The data are not final, because they continue to be established in places of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
The most children were affected in Donetsk region - 357, Kharkiv region - 191, Kyiv region - 116, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region - 61, Mykolaiv region - 53, Kherson region - 52, Zaporizhzhya region - 40.
On the night of July 20, Russian forces shelled Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result, children aged 3, 5 and 15 years old were injured.
"Due to bombing and shelling by the Russian armed forces, 2,185 educational institutions were damaged. 221 of them were completely destroyed," added the Prosecutor General's Office.
