Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine: number of injured children increases to over 771
Russian forces have killed 391 children, injured over 771 and damaged 2,500 educational institutions during the full-scale invasion of Ukraine
This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office in a telegram.
"As of the morning of September 23, 2022, more than 1,162 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of the juvenile prosecutors, 391 children died and more than 771 were injured of varying degrees of severity," the juvenile prosecutors emphasized.
The numbers are not final, as they are still being established in places of active hostilities, in temporarily occupied and liberated territories.
The most children were affected in the Donetsk region - 400, Kharkiv - 229, Kyiv - 116, Mykolaiv - 72, Chernihiv - 68, Luhansk - 61, Kherson - 55, Zaporizhia - 47, Dnipropetrovsk - 26.
On September 22, Russians wounded a 15-year-old girl in Toretsk, Donetsk region.
In Kupyansk, Kharkiv Region, on September 22, two children, aged 7 and 13, were injured, and on September 21, a 13-year-old boy was injured.
"Due to bombing and shelling by the armed forces of the Russian Federation, 2,500 educational institutions were damaged. 289 of them were completely destroyed," added the Prosecutor General's Office.
