Russians steal 15,000 exhibits from Kherson museums
The invaders took the сultural fund of the Kherson region to Simferopol. Now it is known about the theft of more than 15,000 museum items
This is reported by the National Resistance Center of Ukraine.
According to the Ukrainian underground, Russian invaders robbed the Kherson Art Museum named after Oleksii Shovkunenko, which also has a branch in Nova Kakhovka. Icons of the XVII - early XX century and works of Ukrainian artists of the late XIX - early XX century were presented there. The exhibition also included works by contemporary artists.
”In total, almost 15,000 exhibits were taken out of the museum's fund, as well as other cultural institutions of the Kherson region," the report says.
It is known that 4 trucks with stolen exhibits arrived in occupied Simferopol. In addition, the Russian invaders dismantled sanitary ware and took away household appliances belonging to cultural institutions.
