Kharkiv Mayor Igor Terekhov announced this.

"Explosions are heard in Kharkiv!" Terekhov wrote at 3:13 p.m.

Later, the mayor clarified that the Russian army had carried out four attacks with guided aerial bombs on the city, writes the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov. It is known that a dense residential area was hit, namely a residential building.

As a result, according to preliminary information, at least two people were killed and two others were injured.

According to Suspilne, the outer wall of the residential building was partially destroyed by the bomb, and apartments on at least three floors were destroyed.

As of 3:58 p.m., the number of victims increased to 18, Terekhov writes.

Suspilne reports that one of the victims was a passenger on a trolleybus that was dropping people off at a bus stop near the site of the attack.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that as of 4:45 p.m., 19 people were wounded and 3 killed, and expressed his condolences to all those who lost their loved ones.

"This Russian terror with guided bombs must be stopped and can be stopped. We need strong decisions from our partners so that we can destroy Russian terrorists and Russian combat aircraft where they are. We have already proved that it is possible to protect people and lives from missile terror, in particular by clearing the border areas of terrorist launchers. We also need to protect against bombs. We need this determination," the president emphasized.

As you can see from the video of the hit, released by President Zelenskyy, it was a 5-story building on Haharin Avenue. It is near the Kharkiv-Levada railway station and the bus station.

Terekhov told the local media outlet Gvara that the Russians also shelled a manufacturing plant in Kharkiv. The Russians dropped 3 guided bombs at it. One person was killed and 3 others were wounded. One munition hit a residential building.

As of 5:08 p.m., 3 people were killed and at least 25 wounded, noted Syniehubov. According to him, 16 people are hospitalized, two of them are children. Four of the wounded are in serious condition.

The head of the regional state administration emphasized that only civilian infrastructure was damaged: houses, public transport stops, and shops.

At 19:00, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the number of wounded after a five-story residential building in the city's Osnovianskyi district was hit had risen to 37. Among the victims are two girls aged 12 and 13.

At 8:18 p.m., the number of injured from the attack rose to 41, the Prosecutor General's Office reported. Six of the victims are in serious condition.

At 8:31 p.m., the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported 52 victims, including 23 men, 26 women, and three girls aged 12, 13, and 17.

By 9:33 p.m., the number of victims had increased to 54, according to Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Kharkiv regional military administration.

Serhii Rashevskyi, head of the emergency and rescue unit, said rescuers need part of the building to collapse to continue clearing debris, Radio Liberty reports.

He explained that part of the facade is a load-bearing wall, and the 4th and 5th floors are in critical condition and might collapse anytime. So, they decided to dismantle part of these floors to avoid uncontrolled destruction.

As of 6:30 a.m. on June 23, emergency and rescue operations at the site of the aerial bomb impact on the 5-story residential building were completed. A total of 116 State Emergency Service employees and 24 units of equipment were involved.

Emergency officials reported that 2 people were killed in the bombing, and 53 were injured, including three children.

The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration said in the morning that 41 victims, including three children, are being treated in regional hospitals. Four patients are in serious condition and underwent surgery.

The conditions of the 12 and 13-year-old children are stable, with positive progress. A 17-year-old girl is receiving outpatient treatment.

Syniehubov noted these are not final figures, as more people are seeking medical help after the attack.
