Russian occupiers are digging trenches in Crimea to prevent Russian troops from fleeing home
Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the southern Ukraine's Defense Forces, believes that the occupiers are digging trenches in Crimea to prevent Russian troops from escaping
Natalia Humeniuk said this in a telethon.
"In my personal opinion, this is most likely a barrier against those troops they may decide to land, so that they do not run home, where they still consider their home. In other words, these trenches are unlikely to help directly against the landing force, based on the fact that many Ukrainians probably know exactly how sandy structures on the Crimean coast hold up. We remember this well and will play in the sand some other time," said the head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces.
Humeniuk emphasizes that Russian troops are very closely tied to classical methodologies, and creative thinking is not inherent to them.
"It is the command of the defense forces and the Armed Forces of Ukraine in general that is characterized by creative solutions, so their classical way of solving the issue, which is provided for in textbooks from many decades ago of the 20th century, will not help," explained Humeniuk.
The head of the press center added that Russians follow a pattern: "We need to dig trenches where the troops can go - so we are digging! We do not know what will happen, but we are digging."
