Russian-occupied Energodar is without electricity, access to drinking water worsens
In temporarily Russian-occupied Energodar, there has been no electricity for three days, the situation with access to drinking water is worsening, and local residents are forced to cook food on self-made fires
The Mayor of Energodar, Dmytro Orlov, wrote about this on Telegram.
He says that due to regular shelling by the invading Russian forces, the emergency services cannot carry out repairs.
"For the third day already, people have been deprived of the opportunity to prepare food. Last night, the townspeople made bonfires right next to their houses to provide themselves with at least some hot food or drinks," Orlov said.
Because of this, he reminds the townspeople to be careful when collecting dry branches for bonfires, as the forests may be mined by the Russian forces.
Orlov also reported that the situation with drinking water is worsening in Energodar, especially for those townspeople who did not have time to stock up or have already used it. The mayor says that the "occupational authorities" of the city are not engaged in solving this issue and that no information has been received about the organization of food and drinking water distribution points.
"The occupiers and collaborators with the 'authority' are not concerned about this problem, as they mostly provided themselves with generators. But people are currently in a difficult situation," the mayor said.
Dmytro Orlov said that Ukraine has repeatedly tried to deliver humanitarian goods to Energodar, but for a long time the invading Russian forces have not allowed the goods into the city.
