Ukraine requires up to 10 million drones annually due to intensifying hostilities - volunteer
The head of the Dignitas Foundation believes all Ukrainians should be involved in drone production
Lyuba Shipovich shared her opinions with Espreso TV.
According to Lyuba Shipovich, the head of the Dignitas Foundation, drones have become a decisive factor in the Russian-Ukrainian war. This marks the first time in the world that unmanned technologies are being utilized on such a large scale, serving as a crucial tool in holding the front line. However, the available number of drones is insufficient.
“When we talk about the need for drones, we require up to 10 million per year given the current intensity of combat”, stated Lyuba Shipovich. “While the government allocates funds for drone procurement, it is insufficient. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would produce one million drones this year, but at the same time, the Russian president claimed the production of three million drones."
Lyuba Shipovich believes that the victory cannot be achieved through competition between states; instead, she emphasizes the importance of uniting all Ukrainians.
"Our GDP is 10 times smaller and our population is four times smaller. Therefore, we cannot rely on the state alone. It will not work. This is a war for our survival. We know that Russia wants to destroy us. Therefore, everyone needs to join this war. The state alone cannot cope, no matter how much money is allocated. It is not enough for this scale of war," emphasizes Lyuba Shipovich.
The volunteer emphasized that assembling a drone is easy, just like a Lego set.
