Russia lost about 60 vessels in southern Ukraine in one month - Ukrainian Navy
The spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Captain 3rd Rank Dmytro Pletenchuk, said that Russian occupation forces had lost almost 60 boats in southern Ukraine
Pletenchuk shared this information this on Espreso TV.
"Last month, according to the initial count, and I'm not sure if they counted the whole month, the occupying Russian forces lost 62 boats. These are usually some kind of speedboats or boats for several people, which are needed to move along the left bank of the Dnipro River. There are many places where you can actually move only by boat. It's like Venice, you could say. They were used in the same way to try to cross the Dnipro, to get to some islands. This is an assumption, but it is true that they lost 62 boats. It's true that these are assault actions on the river, but at sea it's a different picture. Such options simply do not work there. The coast is protected," he said.
A full-scale operation involving the landing of Russian marines is impossible, Pletenchuk said.
"Firstly, they no longer have the capabilities that Russia had at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. There are five large landing ships out of 13 with which they started the full-scale invasion. With only five, they will not be able to approach the coast, because these ships will simply be destroyed, as will their flagship. Third, such operations are not actually an independent type of operation. They are only to meet the land component when a general military operation is underway and there are some successes on land. But they have no success there, because they have encountered the Dnipro River and that's it. Therefore, there is no option for them to land. The threat remains the same as before - the air component," he summed up.
- As of the morning of Tuesday, July 2, there are seven Russian warships on duty in the Black Sea, one of them is a carrier of Kalibr cruise missiles, but there are no missiles on the ship.
