Russia attacks Ukraine with drones, killing 1 person in Odesa, injuring 12 in Kharkiv, including children

At 1:03 a.m., Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko informed that air defense was operating in the capital. 

According to Mykola Kalashnyk, the acting head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, the consequences of the Russian attack were recorded in three districts of the region. 

Five private houses were damaged in Obukhiv district.

In Buchanskyi and Boryspil districts, one private house was damaged. Windows and doors were smashed, roofs and facades were damaged.

“There are no casualties among the population. No critical infrastructure was hit,” added Kalashnyk.

Strike on Odesa region

Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov reported a threat to the Prymorskyi district. At 9:43 p.m., Channel 24 reported explosions in the city.

The head of the Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, wrote that one person was killed.

“Odesa district was under attack. As a result of the attack and falling debris, a one-story private house, a business, trucks and cars caught fire. One person was killed and another was injured. All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences,” he wrote.

In the morning of March 1, the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office reported that the number of wounded as a result of the Russian attack in Odesa district had increased to three. The victims were taken to the hospital.

The prosecutor's office also showed the consequences of the Russian attack. 

Kharkiv attack

At 04:03, the State Emergency Service reported on the situation in the Kharkiv region. It was stated that the Russians attacked Kyiv, Shevchenkivskyi and Novobavarskyi districts of Kharkiv, as well as Kharkiv district of the region at night.

“As a result of the attack, a medical facility, residential buildings, a shopping center, shops, a gas station, a car dealership and other civilian infrastructure were damaged. The building of the fire and rescue unit has its windows, doors and gates smashed,” the statement said. 

The Russian attack also caused four fires. One of the fires broke out on the roof of the medical facility. Sixty-four people were evacuated from the building, including 56 patients and a child.

According to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, 12 people, including two children, were injured in a large-scale drone attack in Kharkiv. 

Thus, a 6-year-old girl in Shevchenkivskyi district suffered an acute stress reaction. Four patients of a medical facility that came under Russian fire were also injured. 

In Kyivskyi district, a woman suffered an acute stress reaction, while a man and a 6-year-old boy were injured by glass. Another man hit his head during the explosion. Law enforcement officers also recorded a drone strike on the gas station. Three employees were provided with medical care, they also suffered from an acute stress reaction.

“Under the procedural supervision of the Shevchenkivskyi, Kyivskyi and Novobavarskyi District Prosecutor's Offices of Kharkiv, pre-trial investigations have been launched into the commission of war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the statement said.
