Zelenskyy made this remark during a conversation with journalists at the White House alongside U.S. President Donald Trump.
He noted that Russian leader Putin had violated the ceasefire 25 times and emphasized that Ukraine would not agree to a ceasefire without security guarantees. According to him, a document alone would not be sufficient, as a strong army was necessary. He added that Russian soldiers feared Ukrainian forces, but without sufficient supplies, Ukraine would have nothing to defend itself with.
- Zelenskyy is visiting Washington on Friday.
- Before his talks with Trump, he met with a bipartisan delegation of the US Senate. He stated that they discussed the continuation of military assistance to Ukraine, efforts to achieve peace, Ukraine's vision for ending the war, and the importance of reliable security guarantees.
