Russia proposes restoring direct air travel with the U.S. during Istanbul negotiations
During negotiations with the U.S. in Istanbul on February 27, the Russian side proposed to Washington the restoration of direct air travel and also raised the issue of returning its properties

This was announced by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the negotiations, both parties agreed on measures to ensure the "unhindered financing of the activities of the diplomatic missions of Russia and the U.S. on a mutual basis" and to create suitable conditions for diplomats to carry out their official duties.
Additionally, Moscow raised the issue of returning six properties that were seized between 2016 and 2018. The Russian side also proposed restoring direct air connections between the two countries.
"The discussions were held in a substantive and businesslike manner," the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs added.
- On Thursday, February 27, negotiations between Russian and American representatives took place in Istanbul regarding embassy operations. The talks lasted for 6.5 hours. The countries outlined steps to stabilize relations in the banking and diplomatic spheres.
