Hiring specialists is the main problem: UAV unit commander Borovyk on drone production
Valeriy Borovyk, White Eagle special attack drone unit commander, said that today there are several problems affecting drone production, and the main one is personnel
He shared the information on Espreso TV.
"The state should not hinder but help develop drone production. Today, the main problem in this aspect is the personnel reservation. That is, when there is a great engineer or programmer and he is not engaged in drone production, this is a very negative situation. Instead of creating a product that will destroy the occupiers, he is forced to be in a trench with a machine gun. It is logical that his knowledge will be useful here, for domestic UAV production development," Borovyk explained.
According to Borovyk, the state should ensure 100% personnel reservation for UAV production.
"That is why there should be 100% reservation for people involved in drone manufacturing. This also applies to all Ukrainian defense industry development sectors. Today, the state allows only 50% of all personnel to be reserved. However, qualified administrators are also needed to organize production," he added.
- On November 30, reports stated that Ukrainian companies produce about 50,000 FPV drones a month, which is only 10-15% of the army's needs. At the same time, Russians produce six times more.
- At the year-end conference on December 19, President Zelenskyy announced that Ukraine would produce 1 million drones next year.
- On January 2, Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Yevhen Iievliev spoke about the Ukrainian Armed Forces' advantage over the Russian forces in the number and effectiveness of FPV drones.
