Aviation expert tells how many MiG-31K Kinzhal missiles carriers are left in Russia
Kostiantyn Kryvolap, an analyst and aviation expert, noted that Russia has three MiG-31Ks left after Ukrainian drones hit the Savasleyka airbase
He shared this information on Espreso TV.
‘The most interesting thing is that Russia has only three MiG-31K aircraft left after we ‘visited’ the Savasleyka airbase. Please note that after Savasleyka, there was not a single attack in which more than three Kinzhals were launched and more than three MiG-31Ks took off. And the fact that they flew to Machulishchi (an airfield near Minsk in Belarus - ed.), I don't think these aircraft can be based there. The Belarusians don't need it there either, they are welcome to receive and send it, but they would not really want to do anything. Even though Lukashenko boasts that he has some nuclear weapons, he has nothing to do with their management,’ the aviation expert said.
In his opinion, the arrival of two MiG-31Ks from Russia to Belarus is a demonstrative act to show that such capabilities exist on Belarusian territory. However, the Russians will not risk these aircraft, of which they have three left.
‘A very important question here is whether we can intercept the missiles launched by the MiG-31K. In fact, we are blocking the angles and azimuths from which these aircraft can strike. However, the launches may be closer to Belarus, located where the Three Sisters (a monument on the border of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine - ed.) are, so they may try to enter this hole. Or they can launch missiles from behind Belarus, from Russia, but they will fly through Belarusian territory. We will have to understand this, and this is a question of relations between Belarus and Russia, as well as our partners, because the missiles will be approaching Starokostiantyniv faster. It's not a good situation,’ summed up Kryvolap.
- On October 10, the monitoring group Belarusian Hajun reported that a second Russian MiG-31K fighter jet had arrived in Belarus.
