Cargo plane shot down in Sudan, allegedly with Russians on board

Representatives of the Rapid Response Forces reported via their social media that a cargo plane with a crew of Russian citizens on board, according to their version, was shot down in western Sudan.
The embassy, in contact with the Sudanese authorities, is taking all necessary steps to clarify the circumstances of the incident, the statement said.
The situation is complicated by the fact that the crash zone is located in the embattled Darfur, the diplomatic mission noted.
The ASTRA Telegram channel writes, citing Sudanwarmonitor, a portal that monitors the military situation in the country, that the IL-76 was shot down in the Malha area of North Darfur. It was allegedly shot down by RSF separatist fighters, to whom the supply was intended. According to one version, there were weapons on board.
It is noted that the crew included a citizen of the Russian Federation and Kyrgyzstan. The exact number of injured and dead is unknown, but the crew of the IL-76 usually consists of 5 people.
