Poroshenko appeals to Scholz: "Give Ukraine tanks, and the sooner the better"
On CNN, Petro Poroshenko called on German Chancellor Scholz to show the unity of the Western world and provide Ukraine with the tanks necessary for a counteroffensive
Petro Poroshenko said this on CNN.
"In the end, it may be that Poland and other NATO member states will supply us with tanks without German permission. It may be Challenger from Great Britain, Leopard from Germany and others. We definitely need tanks now. Without tanks, it is impossible to provide offensive operation", Poroshenko explained.
"If we plan to repel the Russian aggressor from Ukrainian territory, it is impossible without air defense. It is very difficult without jet fighters, and it is impossible without tanks. The sooner we do it, the better," the fifth president believes.
"This is my message to Chancellor Scholz. And one more message - all nations in Europe support the supply of tanks to Ukraine. Ukraine pays a much higher price than Germany," Poroshenko emphasized.
He added that the entire Western world, NATO should learn unity.
"You must learn to speak with one voice: Germany, the United States and other NATO member states," Poroshenko said.
