Norway's boxing team to boycott the World Boxing Championships due to participation of Russian and Belarusian athletes
The Norwegian Boxing Association reported this.
Norway decided not to participate in the World Championships and other tournaments held under the auspices of the IBA (International Boxing Association), to which Russian and Belarusian athletes will be admitted.
The decision to boycott the tournaments concerns not only Norwegian boxers, but also judges and officials from this country.
Earlier, the IBA, whose president is Russian Umar Kremlev, allowed representatives of Russia and Belarus to compete at the World Cup under their own flags. After that, the United States, Poland, Ireland, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, and the Netherlands announced a boycott of the 2023 World Cup.
In 2023, the men's World Championship will be held from May 1 to 14 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and the women's World Championship will be held from March 15 to 26 in New Delhi, India.

On February 9, the US Boxing Federation announced its refusal to participate in the Men's and Women's World Boxing Championships because of the decision to allow Russians and Belarusians to compete under national flags.
