Ukraine boycotts World Boxing Championships due to Belarus and Russia's participation
The Ukrainian national team will boycott the World Boxing Championships due to the participation of Russians and Belarusians in the tournament
Vice President of the Boxing Federation Oleh Ilchenko announced this, according to Suspilne.Sport.
“Our athletes and representatives of the Ukrainian Boxing Federation do not compete where representatives of the aggressor countries – Russia and Belarus – will compete,” Ilchenko said.
Earlier, the IBA (International Boxing Association), whose president is Russian Umar Kremlev, allowed representatives of Russia and Belarus to compete at the World Cup under their own flags. After that, the United States, Poland, Ireland, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Canada, Sweden, and the Netherlands announced a boycott of the 2023 World Cup.
In 2023, the Men's World Boxing Championship will be held from May 1 to 14 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and the Women's World Boxing Championship will be held from March 15 to 26 in New Delhi, India.

On February 9, the US Boxing Federation announced its refusal to participate in the Men's and Women's World Championships because of the decision to allow Russians and Belarusians to compete under national flags.
