Egyptian IT student captured by Ukrainian paratroopers on Russian-Ukrainian frontline
Soldiers from Ukraine's 79th Air Assault Brigade captured an individual of Egyptian origin who was fighting for Russian forces in the Kurakhove direction
Orest Drymalovskyi, spokesman for the 79th separate airborne assault brigade, shared the information on the United News telethon.
According to him, the captured individual initially came to Russia to pursue a higher education in IT technologies. However, shortly after obtaining a Russian passport, he was drafted and sent to the frontline within a month. Ukrainian paratroopers recently captured him during combat.
“An interesting character, he speaks four languages, a polyglot. Everything will be fine with him,” commented Drymalovskyi.
He also mentioned another prisoner, saying, "This is a typical representative of the Russian army—a former convict who joined the fight against Ukraine for a payment of 200,000 rubles."
Drymalovskyi commented on reports that Russian soldiers had allegedly been ordered to detonate grenades to avoid capture by Ukrainian forces. He noted that Russian stormtroopers are increasingly losing the motivation to continue their offensive, leading some to blow themselves up with grenades or commit suicide with assault rifles.
- Andriy Otchenash, the crew commander of the unmanned aerial vehicle complexes “Kara Nebesna” of the 4th Rubizh operational brigade of Ukrainian National Guard, noted that a significant part of the Russian personnel wants to survive and surrender.
