"Moscow protects everyone": Kremlin invents new fake stories to explain its Ukraine war
Vladimir Putin's administration is spreading new fake stories, via Russian propaganda media, about the country's war on Ukraine
Meduza reported this.
The new manual was prepared by August 1 - on this day in 1914, Germany declared war on the Russian Empire. At the same time, the authors of the document draw parallels between the "special operation" in Ukraine and the First World War.
The Russian mass media are recommended to provide information about the war against Ukraine in such a way that Moscow is allegedly involved in a confrontation with the Western countries, which regularly begin wars because of "colonial claims". Russia, on the other hand, is forced to protect "fraternal nations", "does not abandon its own", and "protects the oppressed". As in 1914, "standing up" for Serbia.
The war against Ukraine is presented as a "modern Ukrainian crisis", and its causes are linked to Euromaidan and the war in Donbas. Propagandists are recommended to be regularly reminded that Russian-speaking citizens of Ukraine allegedly "did not accept the coup and the prospect of living in a Ukrainian state hostile to Russians".
It is recommended to emphasize the role of the West, which after 2014 allegedly decided to finance Russophobia in Ukraine. And Russia's role is allegedly exclusively peaceful, and unsuccessful attempts to extinguish the conflict "forced" it to start a so-called "special military operation".
Also, in the manual for pro-government media, there is a chapter dedicated to "interference of the West" in Russia's internal affairs. And propagandists are advised to compare this with how Germany supported the Bolsheviks at the beginning of the 20th century.
The West operates against Russia with similar methods, funding the opposition, protests and anti-Russian media. And only organizations, mass media, and journalists who receive foreign funding speak out against the war.
The conclusion of the manual states that the "anti-American trend" will intensify in the near future in the world. That is, the US will not be able to find not only military allies, but also trade partners of a serious level.
According to Meduza sources close to the Kremlin, such methods are compiled in the Kremlin's Expert Institute of Social Research. Russia's State Duma deputy from the United Russia party, Oleg Matveychev, directly supervises the work.
