More than 60% of Russian strikes on Ukraine aimed at civilian objects
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that 62% of strikes that Russia launched on Ukraine since February 24 were aimed at civilian objects
He said this at "UA: Human Rights in Dark Times" conference.
According to Zelenskyy, Russia's crimes on the territory of Ukraine and against Ukrainians are unprecedented since World War II. He noted that air and missile strikes by Russian aircraft on the cities and towns of Ukraine are reminiscent of Nazi bombing of London.
"Out of all missiles launched by the Russian army since February 24, 62% were directed specifically against civilian objects, against people, against humanity," Zelenskyy said.
He also added that police discover filtration camps, modern torture camps and mass burials of people in liberated territories of Ukraine.
Forced deportation is also among Russian crimes against Ukraine. Currently, according to Zelenskyy, more than 2 million Ukrainians have been deported to Russia. Among them are children who were abducted by the Russian army and are now being illegally adopted by Russian families.
"Criminal mobilization of Ukrainian citizens in the occupied territory into the army of Russian occupiers. Mine terror against Ukrainians. Constant shelling, constant casualties in the border zone with Russian Federation and in front-line areas - this is all such a terrible amount of crimes committed, which destroyed destinies and lives," president of Ukraine emphasized.
Therefore, Zelenskyy called on government officials, public representatives, international human rights organizations, and agencies to work together to restore violated rights of people and to bring Russian aggressor to justice.
