114 combat clashes with Russian army take place in one day — Ukraine's General Staff

Over the last day, 114 combat clashes took place, Russia launched 1 missile and 48 air strikes, and 38 MLRS attacks at the positions of Ukrainian troops and populated areas

Russian attacks on Ukraine

Russia continues to wage a war of aggression. Despite significant losses, it does not abandon its plans for the complete occupation of Ukraine. It continues to ignore the laws and customs of war, uses terror tactics, conducts strikes, and attacks both military and civilian targets. Russian forces are actively using aircraft and FPV quadcopters, conducting assault operations with the support of armored vehicles.

The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

There were 114 combat clashes over the last day. In total, Russian forces launched 1 missile and 48 air strikes, and 38 MLRS attacks at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Private residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

Frontline update

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the operational situation has not changed.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border.  Russian troops also launched air strikes near 2 settlements. Over 20 settlements came under Russian artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 18 Russian attacks near 4 settlements in the Kharkiv region. Russian troops also launched air strikes near 4 settlements in the Kharkiv region. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, Ukrainian soldiers repelled 14 attacks near 2 settlements in the Donetsk region and another 7 attacks near Serebryanka forestry, Bilohorivka in Luhansk region, where Russian forces unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of Ukrainian troops. Russia launched air strikes Serebryanka forestry and Bilohorivka, Luhansk region. About 15 settlements suffered from artillery and mortar attacks.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukraine's troops repelled 2 Russia's attacks near  Bohdanivka, Donetsk region, where Russian troops, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical situation. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled a total of 36 attacks in the Donetsk region, where Russian troops, with the support of aviation, unsuccessfully tried to break through the Ukrainian defense. About 15 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hold back Russian troops near Krasnohorivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka, Donetsk region. Russian troops made 13 unsuccessful attempts to improve their tactical situation. Russian artillery and mortar fire targeted 4 settlements.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces fended off 4 attacks west of Staromayorsk and south of Urozhayne, Donetsk region. They launched an air strike near the settlement of Vodyane, Donetsk region. Over 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia region. Over 20 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Kherson direction, 7 settlements in the Kherson region came under artillery fire.

Russian forces still intend to drive Ukrainian units out of their footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. During the day, Russian forces made 11 unsuccessful assaults on the positions of Ukrainian troops.

Attacks by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on Russian positions

During the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 5 concentrations of Russian personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Ukrainian missile troops struck a Russian control center.

  • Over the past day, Ukrainian forces successfully thwarted 76 Russian attacks across 7 different directions, with the highest concentration in the Avdiivka direction, totaling 27 incidents. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also eliminated 780 Russian soldiers, 38 armored vehicles and 21 tanks.
