167 frontline combat clashes, 52 in Pokrovsk direction – General Staff

Since the start of January 25, 167 combat clashes took place on the Russian-Ukrainian front. The heaviest fighting has been in the Pokrovsk direction, with 52 Russian assaults

This information comes from Ukraine's General Staff's report as of 8:00 a.m. on January 26.

"The Russian forces, using their advantage in manpower and equipment, are attacking our positions. Ukrainian defenders are firmly holding back the invaders, inflicting significant losses," the report stated.

A total of 167 combat clashes were recorded over the past day.

Russian forces carried out 65 airstrikes on Ukrainian positions and settlements yesterday, dropping 113 guided bombs. Additionally, they launched over 5,000 attacks, including 104 from multiple rocket launchers, and deployed 1,969 kamikaze drones.

Russian airstrikes hit areas near Beryslav in the Kherson region and Mala Tokmachka in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian missile and artillery units targeted four Russian concentrations of personnel, weapons, and equipment, as well as one UAV control center.

Frontline situation

Kupyansk direction: Nine Russian attacks were recorded. Ukrainian forces repelled assaults near Petropavlivka, Pishchane, Hlushkivka, and Lozova.

Lyman direction: Russian forces launched 26 attacks, attempting to breach defenses near Tverdokhlibove, Novoserhiivka, Shykivka, Nova Kruhlyakivka, Druzhelyubivka, Hrekivka, Pershotravneve, and Kopanky, as well as near Novoliubivka, Makiivka, Zelena Dolyna, and Torske.

Siversk direction: A single attack occurred near Verkhnokamyanka.

Kramatorsk direction: Russian forces attacked 33 times near Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Novomarkove, Chasiv Yar, Stupochky, Predtechyne, and Bila Hora.

Toretsk direction: Ten attacks were carried out near Toretsk.

Pokrovsk direction: Ukrainian forces stopped 52 assaults targeting Vodiane Druhe, Elyzavetivka, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Zelene, Udachne, Novooleksandrivka, Kotlyne, Bohdanivka, Andriivka, Shevchenko, Dachne, Ulakly, Kostiantynopolske, and areas near Pokrovsk, Vidrodzhennia, and Uspenivka.

Novopavlivka direction: Nine Russian attacks were repelled. The most active fighting occurred near Novosilka, Novodarivka, Kostiantynopil, and Velyka Novosilka.

Ukrainian forces are working to prevent Russian advances into Ukrainian territory, successfully stopping two assaults in the Kherson direction.

In the Orikhiv, Hulyaipole, and Kharkiv directions, Russian forces conducted no offensive operations over the past day.

Ukrainian forces continue operations in the Kursk region. Yesterday, Russian forces launched 33 airstrikes, dropped 57 KAB bombs, and conducted 292 artillery strikes. Ukrainian defenders also repelled 16 Russian assault attempts.

No signs of Russian offensive group formations were observed along the Belarus border.

"Our soldiers are causing significant losses to the invaders in both manpower and equipment, actively undermining their offensive capabilities," the Ukrainian General Staff emphasized.

  • Oleksiy Hetman, a reserve major of the National Guard of Ukraine and veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, noted that less than 2 km separates two Russian groups near Velyka Novosilka.
