Lukashenko summons security forces due to ‘aggravation’ on Belarusian border
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has gathered security forces because of "NATO's growing military capabilities and provocations on the border"
Belta reports.
Lukashenko said that the situation around Belarus remains difficult - "NATO's military potential is growing and provocations are taking place near the border."
"We could not postpone this meeting: the situation forces us to respond to the current situation. Therefore, the government and the security forces were instructed to prepare serious measures at the border to prevent all sorts of saboteurs from entering the territory of Belarus. Recently, such cases have become more frequent. Therefore, I would like to hear comprehensive proposals for counteraction," Lukashenko said.
During the meeting, the head of the State Security Committee of Belarus, Ivan Tertel, said that according to intelligence, "a significant aggravation of the operational situation around Belarus is predicted."
