"Like cavemen - without water and light": residents of Russian-occupied Mariupol protest
On September 15, residents of temporarily Russian-occupied Mariupol protested the living conditions in the city. There is no water or electricity, and the invading Russian forces are in no hurry to repair critical infrastructure
This was reported by the Mariupol City Council on Telegram.
"The residents of Mariupol continue to sit without water and electricity. Discontent is growing in the city, because the Russian occupiers are in no hurry to fulfill their promises, and soon winter and the cold will begin. Even the DPR public is already reporting this. The first protests are starting," the report says.
Residents of the city came to demand action from the so-called authorities and communal services. It is noted that utility workers refuse to repair the rush on the street and the broken substation.
"Residents of buildings on Peremogy Avenue, 72, 74, and 76, gathered near the Azovzhylokompleks building. According to them, the houses have been without water and electricity for the third month. People are surviving. The administration does not give any answers about the reasons... This is what "care" on the part of the Russian occupiers looks like," the Mariupol City Council wrote.
It is also reported that the Russian occupiers have only nominally restored housing and operating offices, which are not actually working.
"People from other areas are also indignant at the lack of basic conditions for life. The occupiers have restored the derelict offices. "What is this office for?", "We are like cave people - without water and light for the third month," the Mariupol residents complain," the report says.
