Invading Russian forces kill at least 1,000 residents of Izyum
1,000 residents of Izyum, Kharkiv region, are currently known to have been killed, but the city council says that the losses are much higher
This was announced by Maksym Strelnyk, a member of the Izyum City Council, at the Media Center briefing on Monday, September 12.
"There is currently no complete information on the number of dead local residents. As in the entire Russia-occupied territory, the Russians committed war crimes and tried to hide them. At least 1,000 local residents died as a result of military operations," Strelnyk said.
However, the Izyum City Council believes that the real number of injured residents is much higher, since the Russian occupiers destroyed all healthcare facilities.
"Access to medicine was limited. The Russians looted all the pharmacies... At the moment, in liberated Izyum, the issue of providing medicine and hospitalization of seriously ill and wounded people is acute," Strelnyk added.
