Invading Russian forces have killed 363 children, injured more than 718, and damaged 2,328 educational institutions during their full-scale invasion of Ukraine
This was reported by the Prosecutor General's Office on Telegram.
"As of the morning of August 20, 2022, more than 1,081 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. According to the official information of the juvenile prosecutors, 363 children died and more than 718 were injured of varying degrees of severity", the juvenile prosecutors emphasized.
The data are not final, because they continue to be established in places of active hostilities, in temporarily Russia-occupied and liberated territories.
The largest number of children were injured in the Donetsk region - 377, Kharkiv region - 202, Kyiv region - 116, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region - 61, Mykolaiv region - 61, Kherson region - 55, and Zaporizhia region - 41.
On August 19, an 8-year-old girl was injured in Zaporizhzhia as a result of Russian artillery shelling of Shevchenkove.
It became known that in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region, on August 12, the Russian occupiers injured a 12-year-old girl.
It is also known about the death of a 9-year-old girl on May 27 during a shelling of houses in Velyke Artakove, Mykolaiv region.
"Due to bombing and shelling by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, 2,328 educational institutions were damaged. Of them, 289 were completely destroyed", juvenile prosecutors added.
