Russian full-scale aggression in Ukraine kills 551 children - Prosecutor General's Office
Today, on June 4, Ukraine honors the memory of children who died as a result of Russia's armed aggression. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 551 children have died in Ukraine, and at least 790 since 2014
This was reported by Ukraine's Office of the Prosecutor General and Verkhovna Rada Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets.
According to official information, as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression, as of June 4, 2024, 551 children died in Ukraine and more than 1,368 were injured of varying severity.
The largest number of children who suffered from Russian aggression are concentrated in the following regions: Donetsk - 536, Kharkiv - 389, Kherson - 152, Dnipro - 143, Kyiv - 130, Zaporizhzhia - 108, and Mykolaiv - 107.
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets noted that since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war in 2014, at least 790 children have been killed.
“Each such tragedy is another evidence of the genocide of the Ukrainian people. The world must respond to the killing of innocent children and act to punish Russia and prevent new victims,” he wrote.
In particular, the Prosecutor General's Office added that on June 3, a 12-year-old boy died as a result of shelling in Donetsk region. Also today, on June 4, two boys were injured as a result of an attack on Dnipro: one was 1 month old and the other was 17 years old.
- Russia took 43 children from the temporarily occupied Berdiansk to Chuvashia, Russia, for “rehabilitation."
- The Russian military also abducted 46 children from Kherson to Russia during the occupation of the city. Many of them can now be adopted in Russia.
