Ukrainian army destroys 730 Russian servicemen, 13 tanks and 10 artillery systems - General Staff

The total combat losses of the Russian Federation from 24.02.22 to 17.01.24 are estimated at:

  • MLRS - 964 (+3)

General Staff report: 98 combat engagements took place in the frontline over the last day, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled most Russian attacks in the Avdiivka direction

According to Ukraine's General Staff, the operational situation has not changed in the area of the northern Ukrainian border with Belarus.

In the northeastern border area, the Russian army maintains a military presence, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of Ukrainian troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

In the Kupyansk direction, the invading Russian troops did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Lyman direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces beat back 11 Russian troops' attacks near Terny, Yampolivka and Torske in Donetsk region and another 17 attacks near Makiivka, Bilohorivka, Serebryanske forestry in Luhansk region and north of Hryhorivka and Vesele in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut direction, Ukrainian troops repulsed 9 Russian attacks near Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to deter the Russian forces, who are trying to encircle Avdiivka. Ukrainian soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the invaders. Thus, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 20 Russian attacks in the areas of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 15 attacks near Pervomaiske and Nevelske in Donetsk region over the past day.

In the Marinka direction, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the Russian troops near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region. Ukrainian troops fought off 17 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, the invading Russian army did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled Russian attack west of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to expand the bridgehead. Despite significant losses, the Russian forces continue trying to drive Ukrainian units out of their positions. Over the past day, the Russian troops made 6 unsuccessful assaults on Ukrainian positions.

Russian army launches 4 missiles, 29 air strikes on Ukrainian territory

Over the last day, 98 combat engagements took place. In total, the Russian army launched 4 missiles, 29 air strikes, fired 49 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas. Also, at the end of the last day, Russian troops launched rocket attacks on the central part of Kharkiv.

At night, the Russian troops conducted another air strike using 20 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 19 attack UAVs.

Vovchansk in Kharkiv region; 5 settlements in Donetsk region; 3 settlements in Zaporizhzhia region were hit by air strikes.

More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

Ukrainian defense forces destroyed the Russian troops' concentration area and 2 control points

Over the past day, Ukrainian aviation struck 1 area where Russian troops, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Ukrainian air defense forces also destroyed one Kh-59 guided missile.

Ukrainian missile units struck at 1 Russian personnel concentration area, 2 control points and 2 ammunition depots.

  • Russian forces have recently confirmed advances in the area of Kreminna and Bakhmut. The occupying Russian army has also resumed an offensive using armored vehicles near Serebryanske forestry.
