Destroys Russian army position in minutes: CAESAR self-propelled gun is in service with Ukraine's Armed Forces
France has strengthened Ukraine's Armed Forces with 18 155-mm CAESAR self-propelled artillery units. This was a serious step for the French army because, with only 76 of these modern self-propelled gun systems in service, they gave almost a quarter to Ukraine. Now Ukraine's Armed Forces are demonstrating the advantages of the modern CAESAR self-propelled guns, produced by Nexter, on the battlefield
CAESAR self-propelled gun in the war against the Russian Federation
For several months, Ukraine's Armed Forces have been destroying the Russian occupiers with the modern 155-mm CAESAR self-propelled howitzer - for the first time this artillery system appeared in Ukraine at the end of May this year, at the same time it became known that the 55th Detached Artillery Brigade was reinforced with this modern weapon.
The first shots of CAESAR self-propelled guns in Ukraine
The Ukrainian military experienced directly on the battlefield how effectively this self-propelled gun can dispose of the enemy. For example, the press service of the United Forces Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces told about an episode when a group of three CAESAR self-propelled guns destroyed two Russian tanks, two BMDs, and one truck with ammunition in less than a minute of firing at a distance of 22.1 km.

The CAESAR self-propelled gun with an active-reactive projectile can destroy targets at a distance of more than 50 km
At the same time, at the beginning of June, the France 2 TV channel told another interesting detail about the CAESAR self-propelled guns - a battery of six of these self-propelled artillery in the hands of the Ukrainian military destroyed as many as 80 Russian guns in about a month and a half of hostilities. Moreover, the targets were destroyed mainly at a range of up to 17 km, which indicates the ability of this self-propelled gun to quickly shoot at the target and leave the position before the enemy can send shells in response.
What advantages does CAESAR have?
The French CAESAR self-propelled gun, along with the German PzH 2000 and the Swedish Archer, are considered to be among the best in the world. As for CAESAR, the following advantages, already traditional for the latest self-propelled guns, can be noted here.
First of all, this is the range of this self-propelled gun. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have long-range active-reactive missiles with which CAESAR can fire at a distance of more than 50 km. In addition, these projectiles are also equipped with FU RALEC DE F3 detonators with an air detonation function, due to which it is possible to increase the area of damage to targets.
Secondly, it is the high accuracy and speed of execution of the combat task by this self-propelled artillery installation. CAESAR has a digital fire control system, due to which it is possible to open fire in less than a minute after taking up the position - the task of calculating the gun is to enter the coordinates - this can be done at any time, even when the self-propelled gun has only moved to a position.
