"Days are beautiful, but our neighbor is not": Zelenskyy on high risk of Russian false-flag operations on Ukraine's Independence Day
Volodymyr Zelenskyy has warned about the high risk of Russian false-flag attacks on Ukraine's Independence Day
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this at a press conference following the results of the summit of the international Crimean platform.
"These days there may be provocations from the Russian Federation, although they are no different from other days, given the daily strikes by Russia for six months", he said.
In addition, Zelenskyy stated that this does not mean at all that there was peace and tranquility before, and something will begin on August 24 - just a high level of threat.
"We are not talking about the fact that before there was peace and calm, but something will start tomorrow or today. We are talking about the fact that the risk is really high, we receive one or another information that there may be provocations from the Russian Federation, so we do not want gatherings to be on such days... The days are beautiful, but our neighbor is not so. Ukraine's Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police, the State Emergency Service are working powerfully and reacting to all risky moments", the president added.
In his evening address to Ukrainians, Zelenskyy noted that August 24 is an important day for everyone. And that is why this day, unfortunately, is also important for the Russian enemy.
"We must be aware that disgusting Russian provocations and brutal attacks are possible tomorrow. The Ukrainian Armed Forces, our intelligence, and special services will do everything to protect people - as much as possible. And we will definitely respond to any manifestation of Russian terror. But please be extra careful tomorrow. Please observe the curfew. Heed the air raid signals. Heed the official announcements. And remember: we must all come together to win", he urged.
