Ukraine's first 3D-printed house built for family of fallen soldier
The first house was built in Irpin, Kyiv region, using a 3D printer. The family of the fallen Ukrainian soldier received it
Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation, reported on July 19.
The house was built for the family of Yaroslav Berezov, a Ukrainian soldier whose home was destroyed by Russian forces during the occupation of Irpin in 2022. Berezov was killed in battles for Bakhmut later that year.
According to Fedorov, the new home for the defender’s family was built using a 3D printer from the Ukrainian startup 3D UTU. The 130-square-meter house was completed in just 58 moto-hours. On July 18, the wife and children of the fallen soldier received the keys to their new home for free.
Fedorov noted that this construction method is not only fast and efficient, but also enables the creation of energy-efficient and more environmentally friendly homes. This technology is especially important for Ukraine as it works towards sustainable development after the war.
The minister also expressed his gratitude to Ukrainian entrepreneurs, technologists, and engineers who are contributing to the country’s reconstruction efforts.
