China's peace plan. Making a statement in order to avoid taking an actual stance
For four millennia, China's diplomacy has been based on saying something without saying anything
China has entered the Ukrainian game.
For four millennia, China's diplomacy has been based on saying something without saying anything actually meaningful. Both Moscow and Kyiv may believe that the plan is both for and against them.
1. China's plan is not about Ukraine, but about Sino-US relations. This is the basic element for understanding all further events. Ukraine and Russia are just pawns in this game.
2. Right now, China does not want Russia to collapse or be destroyed. It needs a weakened Russia as a junior controlled and, most importantly, predictable partner. And this is unlikely to change in the coming years. It is from this position that we should look at the possibility of both the implementation of this plan and the supply of weapons to Russia by China. As we say in Ukraine, the West gives us just enough so that we don't lose, and China will take a similar position with regard to Russia. In the meantime, we also need to understand that no supplies have been made yet.
“China's peace plan is for everything good and against everything bad. The first point (a ceasefire) does not suit any side: we demand the withdrawal of Russian troops, while Russia wants to reach the borders of the annexed regions. All other points are designed to appeal not to Moscow or Kyiv, but to the top countries of the world. This plan is not about the new-old borders of Ukraine, but about a new Yalta”

All other points are designed to appeal not to Moscow or Kyiv, but to the top countries of the world. This plan is not about the new-old borders of Ukraine, but about a new Yalta.
4. The only hard red line is nuclear weapons and their use. And here Putin got a slap in the face.
5. Few people in Beijing seem to understand what the new Yalta should look like. The new Yalta is, first of all, a process (we have not even reached Tehran). In the current situation, China is ready for both a long war and a relative freezing of the conflict. Therefore, those who believe that China will come and solve all the issues are deeply mistaken. China has just entered this game.
Finally, I want to draw attention to one more aspect. Putin has already lost. He has turned himself and Russia into an object on the world stage. This is not yet understood in the Kremlin, but it is almost a fait accompli.
