Children born after February 24 in Kherson region will receive Russian citizenship
Liken other "innovations" from occupying Russian forces, this will also apply to orphans in the Kherson region
Kherson regional council first deputy head Yuriy Sobolevsky and the Russian state-controlled propaganda and hate-speech publication RIA Novosti shared the news.
According to him, despite all Russia's efforts, residents across the region refused and continue to refuse to receive Russian passports.
"Therefore, Russia informed the people of Kherson region through its handlers that all children born in its territory will automatically become citizens of Russia. The same rule they have extended to orphans," says Sobolevsky.
From the very beginning of the full-scale invasion, orphanages were provided with everything necessary only by the efforts of volunteers and concerned residents of the region. Besides, Sobolevsky noted the considerable contribution of the Mykolaiv region to the help to orphans.
"Russian authorities became interested in children only when they learned that we were working to evacuate them. Only then did Russia launch violent activities in Kakhovka and Kherson at the same time, "in order to stop the violation of children's rights." With this phrase they conducted searches of orphanages," Sobolevsky said.
