Belarusian officers are trained to deal with tactical nuclear weapons - Pavel Latushko
Belarusian artillery officers took part in Russia’s drills related to the logistics and storage of nuclear projectiles, opposition politician says
The Deputy Chairman of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, Pavel Latushko, said this on Espreso TV.
“We are receiving information about the possibility of deploying nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. Preparations are already underway for tactical nuclear warheads to appear in Belarus. Putin and Lukashenko themselves spoke about this. The latest information is that officers of the Belarusian artillery forces were on training in Russia, where they took part in training related to the logistics and storage of nuclear projectiles,” he said.
According to Latushko, Putin will never give Lukashenko control over the nuclear button.
“The question will arise that nuclear weapons will appear on the territory of Belarus and this will be a greater threat to Ukraine and the West. The West must answer two questions: are they ready to do something to prevent this? And the second one - if this happens, are they ready to sit on a powder keg,” the oppositionist added.
He emphasized that Lukashenko, with the support of the Kremlin, is building the DPRK 2.0 in the center of Europe.
“Nuclear ammunition can be installed on Tochka-U missile launchers. The modified version can carry a charge of 10 kilotons. For Lukashenko, the presence of nuclear weapons is a super-task. He believes that this will guarantee him rule until death in Belarus, because if he has a nuclear weapon, then nobody will change the government. For the Russian Federation, this means expanding spheres of influence, threats from the West, the possibility of placing Russian groups in Belarus and creating a nuclear protective umbrella over them. The worst option is when a nuclear attack will be launched from the territory of Belarus - will the response be to the Russian Federation or Belarus, if nuclear weapons are placed there?” Latushko concluded.
