About 23,000 Ukrainians want to leave occupied Kherson - mayoral adviser
About 800-1000 people from Kherson come to Zaporizhzhia everyday
Kherson mayor's advisor Roman Holovnia said this on Espreso TV.
"Now the request for evacuation has increased significantly. With the active actions of the Armed Forces, it has increased. Today there are certain official lists for evacuation - they reach about 23,000 people who want to leave for the territory controlled by Ukraine", he said.
Roman Holovnia added that there are huge queues on the only way out - this is Vasylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
"About 1,500 cars gather there every day. 800-1,000 people from Kherson come to Zaporizhzhia everyday. People want to leave. There is little availability, so we do free evacuation as much as we can, but it is very difficult to satisfy that huge demand. Many people are in a difficult situation. They stand in queues to leave and want to do it as quickly as possible", he concluded.
