7% of Ukrainians prepare to move by winter cold and Russian attacks - survey
Despite the energy supply problems caused by Russian missile attacks, only 7% of Ukrainian citizens are actively preparing to move to another place for the winter period
This is stated in the report of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), published on the survey results.
Its findings showed that even in the long-term absence of essential utilities without information about the timing of their restoration, 2/3 of respondents said they would not leave their homes.
"Almost 18 million people, 40% of Ukraine's population, are in urgent need of humanitarian assistance," said IOM Ukraine Chief of Mission Anh Nguyen.
Organization data shows 43% of households in Ukraine have exhausted their savings, and 63% of respondents said they limit gas, electricity and solid fuel consumption.
Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, Dmytro Lubinets, during a report in the media center "Ukraine-Ukrinform" on December 14, said that almost 8 million Ukrainians went abroad because Russia attacked Ukraine. This is 20% of the actual population of the country.
