40% of Ukrainian refugees in UK are employed
According to a preliminary assessment by the UK Bureau of National Statistics, 42% of refugees from Ukraine have been able to find employment in the UK - as opposed to just 9% in April

Data on Ukrainian refugees were collected from July 20 to August 4, 2022.
93% of Ukrainian citizens who arrived in the UK and took part in the previous survey in April stayed, and 7% left the country.
The share of Ukrainian citizens working in the UK increased to 42%, compared to 9% in April, and the share of those with the UK bank account increased to 93% (43% in April).
About 37% of respondents said they have enough money to support themselves for the next three months, compared to just 26% in April.
At the same time, almost half of Ukrainian refugees said that they faced difficulties in finding a job in the UK. The most common was knowledge of the English language, which does not meet the requirements of the job (58%).
43% of refugees from Ukraine who were educated outside of the UK said that employers in the country did not recognize their educational documents.
Also, the majority of respondents indicated that they do not understand very well or do not understand at all how to apply for an extension or change of visa (69%) and what state benefits they may be entitled to (58%).
