This information is based on a report by the Institute for the Study of War.

Russian sources claim that Ukrainian military forces are holding positions in Krynky and continuing their attacks on the left bank of the Dnipro River. They also emphasize that the Ukrainian Armed Forces still control a portion of Krynky and maintain positions near the Antonivka highway and the railway bridge.

According to the report, Russian news bloggers alleged that Ukrainian troops have transferred reserves to the islands in the Dnipro River and are attempting to break through to the villages of Poima and Pishchanivka.

They further noted that Ukrainian forces are ferrying small groups of personnel across the Dnipro River using boats at various points on the left bank.

The operation in the left-bank Kherson region

The operation in the left-bank Kherson region involved the Ukrainian military crossing the Dnipro on September 14 and 15, likely to consolidate positions and prepare for an offensive on the left bank of the Kherson region. Russian sources claim that the Ukrainian Armed Forces had been preparing to cross the Dnipro since July.

On September 20, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced new footholds of the Defense Forces on the left bank of the Dnipro. The Institute for the Study of War indicated that units from two Ukrainian marine brigades likely crossed the Dnipro River on October 17-18 and landed on the left bank of the river in the Kherson region.

On October 20, the ISW stated that the Ukrainian offensive on the left bank of the Dnipro in the Kherson region was more extensive than previous raids. Geolocation footage showed that the Armed Forces maintained a presence along the coastline of the Dnipro River and near the Antonivka Bridge. On the same day, President Zelenskyy visited the Kherson region, where he held a meeting and presented awards.

On October 21, ISW reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine continued to conduct larger-than-expected ground operations on the left bank of the Kherson region. Additionally, Ukrainian fighters were engaged in combat in the village of Krynky.

Natalia Humeniuk, the head of the joint coordination press center of the Southern Defense Forces, stated that in order to improve conditions on the right bank of the Dnipro, it is necessary to clear the part of the left bank that remains under fire from the Russian invaders.
