Ivan Kyrychevskyi, a military expert at Defense Express, noted that the Russian forces always follow a sequence, conducting information operations first and then launching missiles

He spoke about this on Espreso TV.

‘As for a new large-scale Russian air strike on Ukraine, it is always possible. For some reason, as the intensity of hostilities increases, we think that the Russians need to raise the bar for the scale of air strikes. However, even the strike of the scale that they carried out yesterday, November 28, has already caused us some problems, so they do not need to increase it. I think that when we use such phrases as the Russians need to have a certain inviolable stockpile of missiles, we are sometimes guided by outdated realities. Just like two years ago, we calculated how many, when and what Russia would run out of,’ the military expert commented.

According to him, historical practice shows that since the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, it has been standard for Moscow to fight until the missiles run out. For example, in Afghanistan, Moscow managed to fire 4,000 missiles for the Elbrus and Luna-M systems, which were practically its strategic reserve. If we recall Syria in 2015-2017, when the Russian military-industrial complex was slow to work, it turns out that in two years, the Russians fired two annual stockpiles of Kh-101 and Kalibr missiles in Syria.

‘Russia conducts almost every strike to ensure that it has enough stockpiles for 2-3 massive attacks, for example, of the scale of yesterday. But on the other hand, the Russians believe that this is enough for them to achieve their strategic objectives. And we can't say that yesterday's attack didn't cause us some problems. Perhaps, when it comes to the talks that Russia is preparing to use several hundred missiles at once, this may be an element of their information operations. But on the other hand, the Russians always follow information operations with missile launches. Therefore, we will have to keep a balance and take it all in stride as much as possible,’ Ivan Kyrychevskyi summed up.

  • On November 27, the Russian occupation army launched strike UAVs at the territory of Ukraine: air defense systems were operating in the Kyiv region. On the morning of November 28, Russian Tu-95MS bombers launched missiles.
  • The Russian army launched 188 airborne targets at the territory of Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 79 missiles and 35 drones.
