Zelenskyy appoints Mykhailo Drapatyi as new commander of Ukraine's Ground Forces
On November 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff, where he made several appointments
He announced this on Telegram.
The meeting was addressed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, who reported on the situation at the front and in the areas of the Kursk operation.
"Together with the Commander-in-Chief, we also made several personnel decisions for our army. Mykhailo Drapatyi has been appointed the new Commander of the Ukrainian Ground Forces. Oleh Apostol has been appointed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," Zelenskyy said.
According to him, both proved their effectiveness in combat.
Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi successfully organized the defense in the Kharkiv sector and disrupted the offensive operation of Russian forces, the president noted.
Colonel Oleh Apostol is an experienced commander with the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade.
"The main task is to significantly increase the combat capability of our army, ensure the quality of training and introduce innovative approaches to human resources management in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Ukrainian army needs internal changes to fully achieve the goals of our state," Zelenskyy emphasized.
The issue of energy was also discussed at the meeting.
"I set a task to strengthen air defense and relevant negotiations with partners," the president wrote.
