Ukraine's border strip with Belarus and Russia to be extended to 2 km: territory will be mined
According to a new law, Ukraine's border with Belarus and Russia will be expanded to two kilometres, the territory will be mined
This was reported on Telegram by the Ukrainian State Border Guard Service.
It is noted that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Protection of the State Border."
Thus, it provides for amendments to certain laws on state border protection: the strip along the Ukrainian-Russian and Ukrainian-Belarusian border will be increased to 2 km wide, and the territory will be mined.
In particular, the issue of involving the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the National Police in the tasks of protecting the state border will be regulated, and the place of border guards in the overall system of the Defense Forces during martial law will be determined.

As a reminder, the head of the State Border Guard Service, Serhiy Deyneko, said that Ukraine is now better prepared for a possible invasion from Belarus than it was a year ago. However, there are currently no signs of preparations for an offensive from the neighboring state.
