New Ukrainian WarDog UAV can conduct reconnaissance under influence of EW
Ukrainian engineers have developed a new drone, WarDog, which can conduct reconnaissance in difficult terrain and under the influence of Russian electronic warfare
Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov reported this.
He said that the reconnaissance drone will continue to operate even if the GPS signal is suppressed. It will also operate in autonomous, semi-autonomous, and manual flight modes. The WarDog drone can operate for up to 60 minutes in the air at a distance of up to 10 km with communication, and up to 30 km in autopilot mode. The speed of the Ukrainian-made drone is 12-15 m/s.
"The WarDog drone is already being actively contracted as part of the Drone Army project. The drones have been successfully performing combat missions in the Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv sectors. WarDog was also tested near Kramatorsk - the drone operated in conditions of GPS signal jamming at an altitude above 50 meters," said Fedorov.
According to the minister, the military emphasizes stability in flight despite the lack of a GPS signal among the advantages of UAVs.
"That is, the drone is stable in strong winds, which makes it possible to keep the image in frame and focus more clearly," Fedorov added.
- On April 2, Mykhailo Fedorov said that in 2024, Ukraine increased the production of long-range strike drones tenfold compared to last year.
