UK intelligence reveals number of Russian casualties in Ukraine
At least half of the 30,000 paratroopers that Russia sent to war in Ukraine in 2022 have been killed or wounded in combat
This is reported by the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain.
The annual celebrations of Russia’s Airborne Forces (VDV) on August 2 have been overshadowed by the unauthorized disclosure of data on Russia's large-scale losses in the war with Ukraine.
It is noted that in a recorded address, the Commander-in-Chief of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel-General Mikhail Teplinsky, reported about 8,500 wounded paratroopers. However, they later returned to the ranks or refused to leave the front line at all. The video was quickly removed from the official channels of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Teplinsky did not comment on how many servicemen of the Russian Federation had been killed or seriously wounded in Ukraine.
"However, extrapolating Teplinsky's figures endorses the assessment that at least 50 percent of the 30,000 paratroopers who deployed to Ukraine in 2022 have been killed or wounded," the intelligence agency notes.

The General Staff reported that as of August 6, Russia had lost about 249,700 servicemen in Ukraine. 590 soldiers were killed during one day, and the Armed Forces destroyed 5 enemy tanks and one MLRS system.
