Russian occupation demands Kherson schools switch to Russian language teaching: 2 principals out of 60 consent
Kherson’s occupation administration held a meeting of principals from local schools, demanding that they align their syllabus with those used in Russia, from September 1.
This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate at Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense
"Out of about 60 school principals present, only two accepted the proposal. They were instructed to hold a meeting of their teaching staff and force their employees to re-register under Russian law by concluding agreements with the occupation administration," the Directorate said.
A similar meeting was held with employees of the Kherson Ukrzaliznytsia Railway Transportation Directorate. Representatives of the occupation administration told the railway workers that they would only pay those workers who cooperate. Intelligence reports that the payments they will receive under occupation will be half what whey currently get from Ukrzaliznytsia.
"Obviously, Kherson’s occupation administration does not have sufficient financial resources to ensure the livelihood of the city under occupation. In addition, in the near future, the receipt of these financial resources is not planned," the Intelligence Directorate says.
In addition, the department mentions Russian mobile operators’ SIM-card sales in Kherson, during which the vendors take photos of the first and second pages of Ukrainian citizens’ passports.
