Russian soldiers force 2 schools out of 60 in Kherson to switch to Russian curriculum - Ukrainian diplomat
In temporarily occupied Kherson, principals of 2 schools out of 60 have agreed to switch to the Russian curriculum.
Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna, Yevhenii Tsymbaliuk, shared the update, Ukrinform reports.
"Russian forces are demanding Kherson schools switch to the Russian curriculum. This is happening while public debates in Russia about plans to erase Ukraine's identity, abolish culture, destroy the most active and re-educate the rest. I must say that, according to Ukrainian intelligence, only 2 out of 60 school principals have agreed to cooperate," he said during a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.
"Russia threatens to annex the Kherson and Zaporizhzhya regions by autumn. That's why Russian forces use their traditional scenario, including an information blockade, forced certification, introduction of the ruble zone, and so on" he said.
Faced with strong Ukrainian opposition, Russian forces are terrorizing local residents. In total, about 600 people have been illegally detained in the Kherson region. Some of them are tortured and held in inhumane conditions. Others are forcibly transported to temporarily occupied Crimea.
