Russian service center A-50 planes arrive after explosions in Machulishchy - Belarusian Hajun
After the explosions that damaged the A-50 reconnaissance aircraft, aircraft from the Russian maintenance center arrived at the Machulishchy airfield in Belarus
This was reported by the monitoring group Belarusian Hajun.
According to their data, in the evening of February 26, after receiving information about the explosions, military transport aircraft Il-76 (RF-86843) and An-26 of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at the Machulishchy airfield. The next morning, the Il-76 flew to the Ivanovo-Severny airfield, and on February 28, at about 12:00, the An-26 flew there.
Hajun, citing sources, notes that the Ivanovo-Severny airfield houses the 610th Center for Combat Use and Flight Personnel Training, as well as an aviation technical base and the 308th aircraft repair plant. The Russian IL-76 belongs to the 61st center.
"It is in the 610th center that the A-50 UAVs are stored, modernized and repaired," writes Belarusian Hajun.
They add that, according to satellite images from July 2022, at least nine A-50 UAVs were stationed at the airfield. Another one was under repair.
Belarusian Hajun believes that these facts are likely to indicate problems with the A-50 UAV, which was damaged by Belarusian partisans.
"During the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation, at least four A-50 UAVs (RF-50608 - currently in Belarus, RF-50610, RF-94268, RF-93966) were stationed at Belarusian airfields at different times. This means that the Russian Aerospace forces had at least four A-50s (until February 26, 2023)," the statement said.
- On the morning of February 26, two explosions occurred at the Machulishchy military airfield near Minsk, damaging a Russian A-50 reconnaissance UAV and snow removal equipment.
