Russian forces launch 17 failed assaults on Dnipro’s left bank - General Staff

Russian attacks across Ukraine

Russia launched one missile strike, 33 airstrikes, and 23 attacks with multiple launch rocket systems at the Ukrainian troops’ positions and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.

With the improvement of weather conditions, the Russian troops have increased the intensity of their use of tactical aviation and FPV quadcopters. They continue to conduct active assault operations with the support of armored vehicles and have increased the number of air strikes and artillery attacks.

Frontline situation 

Over the last day, 60 combat engagements took place. The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult.

Near the state Ukrainian border with Russia and Belarus, the situation hasn't changed significantly, and no enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces are performing tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

At the same time, the Russian army continued shelling the entire borderline with mortars and artillery: over 20 settlements across the Chernihiv, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions were attacked. 

In the Kupyansk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 8 Russian attacks near the village of Synkivka in the Kharkiv region, where the invading troops, supported by air power, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense. About 10 settlements came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian army did not conduct offensive (assault) actions. Over 10 localities suffered from Russian artillery and mortar shelling.

In the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 8 enemy attacks near Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region. Russia also launched air strikes in the areas of Katerynivka and Toretsk, Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under fire.

In the Avdiivka direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled 17 of the Russian troops’ attacks east of Novobakhmutivka, Stepove, Avdiivka and another 16 attacks in the areas of Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region. The Russian army launched an airstrike near Lastochkyne in the Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Marinka direction, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continued to hold back the enemy in the areas of Marinka and Pobieda, Donetsk region, where the Russian troops, supported by aviation, launched four unsuccessful attacks on the Ukrainian positions. About 10 settlements came under attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk direction, Ukrainian defenders repelled a Russian attack west of Staromayorsk, Donetsk region. About 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Zaporizhzhia direction, the Ukrainian army repelled all attacks west of Verbove and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region, where the Russian troops tried to force our units out of their positions. About 20 settlements came under enemy fire.

In the Kherson direction, 6 localities came under artillery fire. Russia launched an airstrike near Krynky, Kherson region.

The Russian army did not abandon its intention to drive Ukrainian units from the left bank of the Dnipro River, made 17 unsuccessful assault operations, received a decent rebuff and suffered significant losses. Ukrainian units are steadfastly holding the line, continuing to hold their positions and inflicting fire on the enemy.

The Ukrainian aviation strikes on Russian positions 

Over the day, Ukrainian aviation struck 12 Russian military positions. The Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed 3 Su-34 fighter-bombers.

The missile troops hit 4 Russian manpower concentration areas, a munitions depot, and 2 control points.

Over the past day, the Russian troops unsuccessfully tried to drive out Ukrainian forces in the Kherson region. Instead, the Ukrainian Armed Forces killed 1,080 soldiers.
