Russia knows air defense will not protect refineries from Ukrainian drones, wants to scale up "miracle EW"
Russia claims that it already has an electronic warfare system that can protect against "all drones," and now the question is how to expand the development
Following a series of successful long-range drone attacks on Russian oil refineries, Russia's propaganda media recognize that they do not have the capability to protect all of these facilities with air defense systems — including because a number of them have already been lost on the battlefield. So now Russia is looking for new ways to shield this critical infrastructure, Defense Express explains.

In particular, according to the first deputy head of Rostec, Vladimir Artyakov, they want to protect their refineries from drone attacks with electronic warfare systems - Russia already has a complex that can supposedly cope with such a task, but "it has simply not been mass-produced before."Artyakov claims that this system can allegedly effectively fight against "virtually all types of drones and all types of controlled aircraft," and that they are now "actively working to protect our infrastructure facilities in the Russian Federation.
“This complex has allegedly already been used, although there are no details about this Russian weapon. Of course, we may recall that last year the Russians claimed to have tested the modernized Serp-VS5D anti-drone system at one of the energy infrastructure facilities (developed by the Vector Research Institute), but it is likely that this may be a different solution,” the report notes.

And on the one hand, of course, "an electronic warfare system that counteracts all drones" sounds like another "miracle weapon," but on the other hand, the fact that Russia is working in this direction and plans to defend against drone attacks with electronic warfare means should be taken into account in the context of the further development of Ukraine's unmanned aerial vehicles, Defense Express explains.
